Our Story

A small home breeder, not a commercial kennel.

We're a family raising two litters a year, at most — enough to give every puppy, and every family, real attention.

How Velvet Paw Puppies started

Velvet Paw Puppies began in 2014 with one Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Bramble, who we'd originally brought home just as a family pet. After her first litter, raised entirely in our living room, we realized how much care and attention a small home setup could offer that a larger commercial operation couldn't. We added a Maltipoo line a few years later for families looking for a low-shedding companion with the same gentle temperament.

Where your puppy comes from

Every litter is born and raised in our home, not in an outdoor kennel or barn. Puppies are underfoot from day one — exposed to normal household sounds, other pets, and regular handling, so they're already comfortable in a family environment by the time they go home with you.

Our breeding ethics

  • Parent dogs are health-screened before any litter is planned, and never over-bred.
  • We limit ourselves to a small number of litters per year so every puppy gets individual attention.
  • We're always transparent about our dogs, our home setup, and our process — ask us anything.
  • Every family is welcome to visit, meet the parents, and see where their puppy is being raised.

Life after pickup day

Our relationship with a family doesn't end at pickup. We're available for questions about training, feeding, or health for the life of your dog, and we love hearing updates as your puppy grows up.
