Health Guarantee

What's covered, for how long, and what we ask of you in return.

Our commitment

Every puppy leaves Velvet Paw Puppies microchipped, vet health-checked, wormed to date, and up to date on their first vaccinations, with any breed-relevant health screening completed on the parent dogs before breeding. We stand behind the health of every puppy we place, and we're reachable at hello@velvetpawpuppies.com for anything that comes up after you bring your puppy home.

What's included at pickup

  • Microchipping, registered in the puppy's details.
  • A full veterinary health check.
  • Worming carried out to date, appropriate for the puppy's age.
  • First vaccinations, with a record of what's been given and what's due next.
  • A puppy starter pack and guidance on the routine they're already used to.

What's covered

  • Protection against major, life-threatening congenital or hereditary conditions present at the time of sale, for 24 months from the puppy's date of birth.
  • Copies of all health-testing and vaccination records to support any veterinary claims.
  • Guidance and support from us at any point, health-related or otherwise, for the life of your dog.

What we ask of you

  • A veterinary check-up within 72 hours of taking your puppy home, at your own expense.
  • Keeping up with recommended vaccinations, preventative care (such as flea and worm treatment), and a suitable diet.
  • Notifying us promptly, with veterinary confirmation, of any diagnosed hereditary condition, so we can review our breeding program.

What isn't covered

This guarantee doesn't cover conditions resulting from accident, neglect, improper diet, or a lack of veterinary care after the puppy leaves us. Minor conditions common to the breed (such as occasional ear infections) are also outside its scope. It doesn't affect your statutory rights as a consumer under English law.

If something's wrong

If your vet identifies a covered condition within the guarantee period, contact us as soon as possible at hello@velvetpawpuppies.com with your vet's written diagnosis. We'll work with you directly to agree a fair resolution — this might mean contributing to treatment costs, or another outcome we agree together, depending on the circumstances.
